| _ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics 4 — measures how Ekcho is used. Runs in denied mode until you accept. IP addresses are anonymised. | Analytics (optional) | 2 years |
| Google Ads conversion | Records when a broadcast is published, to measure advertising effectiveness. No personal data is sent. | Analytics (optional) | Session |
Ekcho loads Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and a Google Ads conversion tag. Both run in "denied" mode by default under Google Consent Mode v2 — they collect no data until you accept analytics cookies. When denied, Google receives only aggregate, cookieless signals that cannot be used to identify you.
We use the Google Ads conversion tag solely to measure how many people who see our ads go on to publish a broadcast. No personal data is shared with advertisers. We do not run retargeting campaigns or build advertising profiles.
When you first visit Ekcho, a cookie consent banner appears. You can accept or decline analytics cookies. Your choice is stored in localStorage and can be changed at any time in Settings → Analytics.
Declining analytics cookies does not affect your ability to use any part of Ekcho. Only essential cookies — which are strictly necessary for the app to function — are used without your consent.
